Invoice finance specialist Bibby Financial Services (BFS) has appointed Karl Leitelmayer as its head of business centre for trade finance.

Leitelmayer joins BFS after 19 years at Lloyds Banking Group, where he most recently held the position of head of broker channel sales, invoice finance. Last year, Leitelmayer oversaw the bank launching a dedicated broker team in a bid to increase the volume of new lending to businesses.

Prior to this, he held senior roles such as regional director of corporate banking at Bank of Scotland and Barclays.

In his new position, Leitelmayer is tasked with leading a national team of 10 trade finance client managers. A spokesperson for BFS tells GTR Leitelmayer will also support the growth of BFS’s trade finance team, following on from the appointment of Jade McClellan as a relationship manager last month. McClellan moved from Distribution Finance Capital where she held the position of collections and audit manager.

Both recent additions are based in BFS’s Manchester office and report to Gary Griffiths, managing director of trade finance who joined the company in March.
